1st Dan Judo, Assistant Club Coach
Biography:
I began judo at 7 years old at Bushido Judo Kwai and I was coached by 7th Dan, Chris Dawson.
In 2014, I decided to change to a larger club in order to progress my Judo and test myself nationally, hence joined Battlehill.
Since being at Battle Hill Judo Club, I have achieved 7 BJC national gold medals. In 2019, I was ranked 7th in GBR, from competing in national ranking events, fighting the best players in the country.
I have also attended England Development sessions where I was coached by Olympian, Sophie Cox.
Within my time competing I have fought internationally on three occasions, within these events I placed 4th and 5th twice.
Throughout my time at Battle Hill I have achieved 63 golds, 12 silvers and 9 bronze medals. Recently, I gained my black belt, alongside this I have joined the coaching staff.
Coaching has really helped my confidence grow and I also find it very rewarding seeing upcoming players progress each week and enjoying themselves.
