Battlehill Judo Club took 3 Judoka to the Sport Wales National Centre in Cardiff to compete in the Welsh Open Championships.

Charlotte Kendal had an excellent event finishing second out of 17 Cadet Girls in the u70kg category. Charlotte won her first two contests with Ippon (maximum score), then defeated the current commonwealth Judo Gold medalist in the Semi Final, returning with a Silver Medal

Joe Flaherty had four fights in the Pre-Cadet boys u66kg category returning with the Bronze Medal.

Ellie Hutton looked strong in a group of 21 u57kg Cadet Girls, Ellie had three good fights throwing each of her competitors with Wazari, Ippon and Wazari but was narrowly defeated in Goldan Score so did not progress to the final crossover stages.
