vletter ive Judoka from Battlehill Judo Club travelled to Sheffield England Institute of Sport to attend British Judo’s National Championships, with the best competitors from around the country competing over two days.
Charlotte Kendall won all of her fights to reach the semi final of the Cadet u70kg category, losing this contest pushed her into the bronze final which she won with an impressive Renraku Waza combination returning with a well-earned 3rd place Bronze medal
Ellie Hutton, cadet u57kg fought well in a large category of 24 young women, successfully winning with a number of Seoi Nage techniques along the way.
Josh Stoneman competed in one of the largest groups of the day with forty u66kg Cadets, following some strong contests, Josh was winning his third fight with a Wazari, to then lose on an unlucky penalty.
Joe Flaherty and Jenni Francis moved up an age division to compete in the Pre-Cadet categories. Joe in the u55kg group had two hard contests in a group of 18 Judoka.
Jenni showed great form with two wins with Harai Goshi techniques before being knocked out by one of the finalists to finish in 7th place.
